ACGs – Adjusted Clinical Groups®. (Formerly
Ambulatory Care Groups.) A commonly used
algorithm applicable to either capitation
or per-recipient payment methods developed
by researchers at The Johns Hopkins University
School of Hygiene and Public Health. Each
individual is assigned to a single ACG based
on age, sex and diagnoses. It is typically
based on one year’s worth of data. (For more
