- Are SGLT2 approved for Diabetes Mellitus type 1?

και έλαβα την παρακάτω απάντηση:

- Short answer: No.

Details:

SGLT2 inhibitors are not FDA‑approved or EMA‑approved for Type 1 Diabetes.
They were previously approved in the EU (e.g., dapagliflozin, sotagliflozin) as adjunct therapy for adults with Type 1 diabetes, but these approvals were withdrawn due to increased risk of euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
Their use in Type 1 Diabetes today is considered off‑label and generally not recommended except in specialized settings with strict monitoring.
