This figure shows the correct method for measuring a reaction to the tuberculin skin test. The size of the reaction is measured by the width of induration, not erythema. In the example shown, the reaction measures 10 mm.

Just remember to measure it longitudinally, along the arms length, as lymphatics go in that direction, and not sideways... Even if its 11 mm, and longitudinally is 10, you'll take 10mm as the reading, and no its not the average..

Ένας καλός πρακτικός τρόπος είναι να βρίσκει κανείς το κέντρο της διήθησης και να τοποθετεί επάνω ένα μαρκαδοράκι με πολύ ψιλή μύτη, το οποίο να σέρνει πάνω, κάτω, δεξιά και αριστερά, ανιχνεύοντας τα όρια της διήθησης προς κάθε πλευρά, ώστε να σχηματίζεται ένας μικρός σταυρός. Έτσι είναι πολύ πιο εύκολο να μετρήσει κανείς με ακρίβεια τα όρια της διήθησης με ένα βαθμονομημένο χάρακα.
