Δεν χρειάζεται να κάνει κανείς 10.000 βήματα την ημέρα. Και τα 7.000 βήματα την ημέρα, αρκούν...Walking 7,000 steps a day can prevent a range of serious health problems and diseases, such as cancer, dementia, and cardiovascular disease, according to a study published in The Lancet.
Walking 7,000 steps a day instead of 2,000 steps a day almost halves the risk of premature death, according to the meta-study. The study includes data from a total of 160,000 people worldwide.
Walking 7,000 steps a day instead of 2,000 reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by 25 percent and the risk of developing dementia by 38 percent. There are also positive effects on mental health, with the risk of depression falling by 22 percent, the study shows.
Even people who increased their steps from 2,000 to 4,000 saw some health benefits.
Many of the health effects diminish after 7,000 steps a day. But when it comes to the heart, for example, there are health benefits to taking even more steps every day, according to the researchers.
